Dataseam announced fifteen district technology leaders participated in training during the summer recess supporting Apple technologies for Kentucky K-12 districts statewide.
The week-long training was developed by Dataseam in concert with Kentucky K-12 technology professionals to respond to the diverse enterprise-level technology environment Kentucky districts support. Successful participants earn Apple desktops bringing new and advanced curriculum opportunities preparing students for the future workforce. The cohort collectively earned $485,000 of new technology for their schools.
School technology professionals support one of Kentucky’s largest employers, public education. Training opportunities through Dataseam help experienced technicians improve skills alongside newer employees to Kentucky’s K-12 district technology programs. Due to Dataseam’s ongoing efforts, Kentucky has the largest cohort of Apple-certified Systems Engineers in the United States.
Campbellsville Independent Schools Digital Learning Coach Andrea Lawler was a participant in the recent training, relating, “We are a new district to the Dataseam partnership, and this training along with our district Computer Science teacher Lauren Phillips was our first experience with the program. We learned alongside educators and technology leaders with a wide range of experience, yet everyone was supported right where they were. No one was left behind, and there was always someone willing to help, encourage, and share what they knew.

With our district implementing over 100 MacBook Neo laptops for our teachers this fall, the timing of this training was perfect. In just five days, we gained valuable hands-on training while also earning more than $66,000 worth of iMac computers for our district. These new resources will supplement our technology initiatives and support successful learning for our entire Eagle family – students and teachers alike.”

This virtual supercomputer environment drives University of Louisville’s Brown Cancer Center drug discovery, reducing cost and time of therapy development and increased competitiveness for federal funding. To date, the DataseamGrid has supported 30 research teams and serves as a critical resource cited by $80 million of additional federal funds, creating a $200 million impact to date for the Commonwealth.

In response to the statewide effort, the University of Louisville funds the Dataseam Scholars program, providing 4-year scholarships supporting STEM and STEM-education disciplines to students from participating schools.
