Dataseam has announced Russellville Independent Schools, Russellville, Kentucky, unanimously voted to join the Dataseam partnership at its July 2026 Board of Education meeting.
“We are excited to have Russellville Independent Schools as our newest member, serving advanced opportunity for their students and teachers,” said Brian Gupton, Dataseam CEO. “ Superintendent Estes’ leadership during his tenure in Hancock County Schools has been a big part of Dataseam’s success statewide. Next-generation workforce demands require partnerships with schools like Russellville Independent to ensure Kentucky is best prepared to meet the challenge.”
Dataseam, a Kentucky-based education and workforce development organization established in 2003, provides technology and workforce training through industry-standard certification and US Department of Labor-approved Registered Apprenticeships in Information Technology. Participating public schools, generally the largest employer for most Kentucky counties, earn high-end Apple workstations addressing curriculum needs reflective of a knowledge-based workforce. These computers comprise the statewide DataseamGrid supporting the Commonwealth’s research and commercialization efforts at the University of Louisville’s Brown Cancer Center.
Russellville Independent Schools Superintendent Mr. Kyle Estes shared, “My prior experience with Dataseam was positive for the district’s students and staff, not only benefitting instruction, but also our financial bottom line. Improving our local workforce while earning advanced classroom technology and industry-standard certifications helps positively impact local student outcomes, prepare them for the workforce, and advance cancer therapies as part of Dataseam’s mission with the University of Louisville’s Brown Cancer Center.”
Dataseam is supported by the Appalachian Regional Commission, the U.S. Department of Labor, and the Kentucky General Assembly. Russellville Independent’s participation is facilitated by Dataseam’s recent $6,000,000 budget appropriation from the state legislature, continuing innovation and commercialization as part of workforce development efforts.

Russellville Independent is the 62nd district to join the statewide partnership. The school serves 965 students, grades K-12.
