Dataseam has announced that Campbellsville Independent Schools, Campbellsville, Kentucky, unanimously voted to join the statewide Dataseam partnership at their May 2026 Board of Education meeting.
“We are excited to have Campbellsville Independent Schools as our newest member and help provide advanced opportunity for their students,” said Brian Gupton, Dataseam CEO. “As next-generation workforce demands increase statewide, partnerships with schools like this will help ensure Kentucky students are best prepared to meet them.”
Dataseam, a nonprofit education and workforce development organization, provides technology and workforce training through industry-standard certification and US Department of Labor-approved Registered Apprenticeships in information technology. Participating public schools, generally the largest employer in most 120 Kentucky counties, earn high-end Apple workstations addressing curriculum needs reflective of a knowledge-based workforce. These computers comprise the statewide DataseamGrid supporting the Commonwealth’s research and commercialization efforts at the University of Louisville’s Brown Cancer Center.
Senator Max Wise (R), Campbellsville, stated, “Campbellsville Independent joining Dataseam is a big step forward for students and teachers in the school district. This partnership opens the door to more hands-on technology experience, workforce training opportunities, and resources that help better prepare students for the careers and bright futures awaiting them after graduation.
Dataseam is supported by the Appalachian Regional Commission, the U.S. Department of Labor, and the Kentucky General Assembly. The organization recently received a 2-year, $6,000,000 budget appropriation from the state legislature to continue innovation and commercialization as part of workforce development efforts.
Campbellsville Independent Schools Superintendent Mr. Kirby Smith shared, “We are pleased to join this partnership, as it reflects our district’s commitment to lifelong learning. By providing access to advanced workstations and industry-standard certifications, this technology helps us inspire and equip our students to succeed in life. It empowers our students and staff to sharpen their skills while contributing to vital research that moves both our district and the entire Commonwealth forward.”
Senator Wise continues, “I appreciate the work Dataseam has done across Kentucky and the continued support from the General Assembly in expanding opportunities like this for our schools. I’m also grateful to work alongside Representative Sarge Pollock and our local education leaders as we continue looking for ways to support students, strengthen classrooms and invest in the future of Campbellsville and Taylor County.”
Campbellsville Intendent Schools serves over 1,400 students, grades K-12.
